Accessible Building Entrances

OISE exterior entrance.

Surface-Level Entrance (Bloor Street West)

The main entrance to OISE is on the west side of the building, beneath the large OISE sign, and is fully accessible. A ramp with a handrail, located to the right of the steps, leads to a walkway that brings you to the main doors. There are push buttons to open both sets of doors for easy access.

TTC Subway/Underground Entrance

OISE is located above the St. George TTC subway station, with direct access from the Bedford Road exit. The station features elevators connecting the platform to the concourse level. From the concourse, a ramp leads to an accessible door with push buttons, providing entry into OISE. Once inside, elevators are available on the left for access to all floors.

Elevators

All floors of the OISE building are accessible via the central elevator system.

Fire Safety: In the event of a fire alarm, elevators will be temporarily out of service. If you need assistance exiting the building, please contact Campus Safety at 416-978-2222. Emergency phones are located in each elevator lobby. Fire alarms are both visual and audible, with flashing lights and ringing bells.

Reflection Space and Ablution Rooms

The OISE building has available a reflection space and ablution rooms.

Reflection Space

  • Room 3-210 (3rd floor corridor toward the Library)

Ablution Rooms

  • Women's - Room 5-302 (Near washrooms)
  • Men's - Room 12-302 (Near washrooms)

Vehicle Parking

Underground Vehicle Parkade

There are accessible parking spaces in the OISE parking garage, accessible from Prince Arthur Avenue on the concourse level. The door to the building is equipped with push buttons. Once inside, continue straight down the corridor to reach the main building elevators. Elevator access is available from parking levels P9 to G.

Surface-level Vehicle Parking (Bedford Road)

Parking spaces are available in the surface-level lot accessed from Bedford Road, just east of OISE. To enter the building from this lot, you can use the stairs leading to the east doors, or follow the pathway through the park to the Bloor Street West sidewalk to access the ramp and west entrance.

Bicycle Parking

Covered bike parking is available in the OISE parking garage, accessible from Prince Arthur Avenue and located just east of the exit ramp. This secured area features a lockable fence and gate for added security. A limited number of spots are available for a small fee on a first-come, first-served basis.
