In the world and in Chile, democracy is in danger. In this scenario, the school must become a space where political education is developed to strengthen democracy and to teach children and young people that this system of government is not a given but a political project in constant construction and reconstruction. In this session, we present the foundations of a proposal to strengthen democracy education in schools through the curricularization of conflict. First, we present the characteristics and requirements of conflict education. Then, we describe the characteristics and processes to consider in constructing a design for the 'curricularization' of conflict for teaching democracy embedded in subject area lessons in elementary schools and in teacher education. A paper on this work, in English, is forthcoming in the 2025 book, Constructive Conflict Pedagogies for Democratic Peace: Teaching Strategies from Around the World. Another paper on related work, in Spanish, is available at .
