Join us on October 3, 2023, in the OISE Nexus Lounge as three OISE-affiliated researchers launch and celebrate their co-edited book, Enacting Anti-Racist and Activist Pedagogies in Teacher Education.

Professors Andrew B. Campbell, Ardavan Eizadirad, and Zuhra Abawi will engage with educators, community members, OISE alumni, and friends to explore its themes, goals, and intentions. Copies of the book will also be available at a special 20% discount.

Enacting Anti-Racist and Activist Pedagogies in Teacher Education is a timely edited collection that examines the complexities, challenges, spaces of resistance, and possibilities when facultyspecifically Black, Indigenous, and racialized facultyadvocate and implement anti racism approaches and pedagogies in Canadian teacher education programs.

This text includes key terms, discussion questions, and toolbox sections highlighting advice for pre-service K12 teachers, and is an essential resource for undergraduate and graduate students in teacher education.

Zuhra Abawi

Zuhra Abawi is an Assistant Professor of Teacher Education at Niagara University 遙ぺ整氈窒. Her research focuses on the ways that discourses of race and identity are negotiated, mediated and socialized in education.

Andrew B. Campbell

Andrew B. Campbell (DR. ABC) is an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, focusing on Leadership for Racial Justice in Teacher Education at the 遙ぺ整氈窒 Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto.

Ardavan Eizadirad

Ardavan Eizadirad is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education at Wilfrid Laurier University and the Director of EDIcation Consulting (edication.org) offering equity, diversity, and inclusion training to organizations.
