Navigating Media Narratives and Cultural Frameworks: Lessons from Anti-Colonial Organizing

The Centre for Media, Culture & Education is launching a new series focused on media and cultural studies. This series offers graduate students (PhD and Master's) at OISE an opportunity to present their in progress research, engage in discussions, and receive feedback. The series will be an in-person event, supplemented with Zoom to permit virtual audience attendance as well.

Hoda Gharib (she/her)

Hoda is a PhD candidate, student success advisor, and co-founder of a research consultancy. She researches the factors that mobilize and sustain activism, aiming to empower collective action and meaningful change.

Sara Rasikh (she/her)

Sara is a student organizer and an MA student in Social Justice Education at OISE. Her research investigates the role of media portrayals in shaping participation, safety, and solidarity within social justice movements.
