Ted Sargent's global vision for U of T
With Professor Ted Sargent’s appointment as Vice-»»ÆÞ¾ãÀÖ²¿, International, he has brought research to the forefront, citing it as a key role in improving UofT’s international reputation. In his leadership position, Professor Sargent will be providing insight on UofT’s future steps that includes the strategic priority of strengthening international partnerships. In efforts to advance the university’s goal of building and maintaining its status as a top public research and teaching institution in the world, development in the integration of international activities from different functional activities is essential. Professor Sargent’s global vision for UofT include the cross-functional collaboration of student and faculty recruitment, research and innovation partnerships, faculty recruitment, research and innovation partnerships, joint teacher and other forms of academic cooperation, international experience for students, alumni relations, and communications and branding, to achieve its international objectives.

Professor Sargent is a distinguished researcher and holds the rank of University Professor in the Edward S. Rogers Sr. Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto. He also holds the »»ÆÞ¾ãÀÖ²¿ Research Chair in Nanotechnology. Professor Sargent received the B.Sc.Eng. (Engineering Physics) from Queen’s University in 1995 and the Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (Photonics) from the University of Toronto in 1998.
